The name Ferrari is not a mere name, it’s a legend. The legend that he is Enzo Ferrari and his cars; are symbols of courage, dedication, spirit of competition and might to meet the challenge. The brand wanted to have its own exclusive watches. So it collaborated with Girard-Perregaux in 1993 up till 2004, for the manufacture of Ferrari watches. After the cancellation of the contract with Girard-Perregaux, Ferrari chose The Panerai watch maker to serve the Ferrari fans. Both the watch makers did an excellent job, since them both are prestigious in their own right. Each watch maker tried best to incorporate same smooth lines of the Ferrari; to match the elegance, accuracy, strength and high velocity, the Ferrari is known for.
1993 was marked by presenting a limited series of split-second watches, bearing the Ferrari emblem, the prancing horse. The beauty and refinement of Ferrari watches paved the way for the F1 World Champion, to resemble the F1 Ferrari Race Car. After the partnership with Girard-Perregaux ended in 2004, Ferrari entered a contract of co-operation with Panerai, an Italian prestigious brand. With commencement of this agreement two collections were presented, to be added to the beautiful world of Ferrari watches known for strength and elegance. These two collections were “Granturismo” and “Scuderia”. These collections were presented at the SIHH (Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie) in 2006.
